Boeing Shanghai Announces Two New Customers

01/30/2014 | By Boeing Shanghai press release

Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd., (Boeing Shanghai) today announced the signing of 767 heavy maintenance agreements with Air Astana and Rossiya Airlines. The airlines, based in Kazakhstan and Russia, respectively, are new customers for Boeing Shanghai.

Boeing Shanghai will conduct two 767 C-checks for Air Astana and three 767 C-checks for Rossiya Airlines at Boeing Shanghai’s facility at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Work began this month. A C-check is an extensive check of the airplane’s systems and components, generally requiring several days.

“I would like to thank Air Astana and Rossiya Airlines for selecting Boeing Shanghai for their aircraft maintenance service provider,” said Dermot Swan, CEO of Boeing Shanghai. “We are committed to offering a great value proposition that features competitive pricing combined while delivering high standard for performance and quality. We see these new agreements as the start of long and mutually beneficial relationships with Air Astana and Rossiya Airlines.”

“We are very pleased to work with Boeing on the 767 heavy maintenance checks,” said Rossiya Airlines Deputy Director General of Operations Vladimir Ershov. “Boeing’s growing maintenance, repair and overhaul services will support us in meeting world-class standards of operation and quality throughout the lifecycle of our airplanes.”

Established in 1934, Rossiya Airlines is one of the biggest Russian airlines and the leading air carrier in the North-Western region of the Russian Federation. The airline operates scheduled and charter passenger flights from St. Petersburg. It operates three 767-300ERs.

“Expanding safely and efficiently has always been a priority for Air Astana and this agreement with Boeing Shanghai underlines our commitment to deliver the best flight experience to our customers,” said Air Astana President Peter Foster.

Air Astana is the flag carrier of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It operates scheduled domestic and international services on 63 routes. The airline currently operates four 767-300ERs and five 757-200s.
